The Hand of Fāṭimah workshop highlights the important history of talismans in Islam and African knowledges and cultures. The symobol´s sacred geometry evidences North African values that structured architecture and ideas in Évora. The aim of this workshop was to celebrate the visible history of the North Africans in Évora that continues to have a meaningfull presence in the region. The students made the paper from recycled paper and flowers from Évora, then decorated the hands with imagery that protects the community.
